Our service center is committed to making sure that your Chevrolet runs at its peak. There are several fluids that your vehicle needs in order to function at its peak. Your vehicle will need to get the following services at Suburban Chevrolet.

Oil Change

Your Chevrolet likely needs an oil change every 5,000 miles. However, the exact frequency will depend on the age of your vehicle and how much you drive it. If you have a Chevrolet older than ten years old, the oil likely needs to be changed every 3,000 miles. Frequent drivers may also have to change their oil more often.

Power Steering Fluid

If your Chevrolet comes with power steering, then the power steering fluid will have to be changed. Most vehicles need to have the power steering fluid changed every 50,000 miles. You can tell whether the power steering fluid needs to be changed by looking at the fluid. It should be light brown or red. If it is black, it has degraded and needs to be changed.

Transmission Fluid

The automatic transmission fluid needs to be changed every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. It should be a light red or pink color. It will be harder for you to shift your vehicle if the automatic transmission fluid needs to be changed. Your vehicle may also have a harder time starting. Manual transmission fluid needs to be changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles.

The coolant is also referred to as the anti-freeze. It helps the engine maintain the appropriate operating temperature. A lack of coolant can cause the engine to overheat. Coolant comes in a variety of colors. However, if the coolant is murky in color or is filled with sludge, then it needs to be flushed. A coolant flush is typically needed every 30,000 miles.
